  • I am a newer intensive care RN . I picked up the Tarascon Hospital Medicine Pocketbook a few weeks ago. I use it a lot and have, on occasion, even sounded like I really knew what I was doing.  It is concise and so far has been very thorough.....exactly what I need when time is of the essence. Written for MDs/Residents I think, but definitely good for RNs too.

  • Dr. Esherick has organized an enormous amount of clinically relevant information in a concise resource that does indeed fit in a lab coat pocket. I am sure that this will improve quality of care as it brings together current clinical guidelines and evidence based medicine in a very usable, outline based format. I can't think of any common clinical problems that are not addressed in this book. A far cry from the spiral bound, heavy resource I used as a student. A perfect companion to the busy resident or attending physician.
